The effect of sauna bathing
During the sauna bath the blood vessels are considerably widened and in the cool down phase they are contracted again. During the sauna bath the blood circulation and the immune system are strengthened. Taking a sauna helps to improve your physical fitness and strengthens the body defences against infections.
Sauna sessions are very relaxing, as one lies or sits still – the dimmed light in the sauna cabins provides for a feeling of wellbeing. Furthermore, sauna bathing has positive effects on rheumatic diseases e.g. gout, headache and migraine. It also helps to prevent cardiovascular and circulatory illnesses.
For a successful sauna visit you should bring the following things along:
Two quite large towels – one for sitting on it during sauna sessions and one for drying yourself after taking a shower. In addition a cosy bathrobe, in which you can snuggle up during resting periods, flip-flops as well as shower gel.
In case you do not have brought large towels or a bathrobe along, you can rent these articles in our Carolus-Shop daily between 9:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. against a small fee.
