What rules apply to the Carolus Thermen?

 

Admission to the Carolus Thermen is in accordance with the current Corona requirements without any proof or restrictions.

 

The mask requirement in the entire area of the Carolus Thermen is also lifted.

Is a reservation possible and necessary?

 

Currently, no reservation is possible or even necessary. We have disabled the online ticket store for the time being.

 

However, we recommend booking your spa treatments online in advance.

Is data collection/contact tracking necessary?

 

No personal information is collected from our guests for contact tracking purposes.

How long are vouchers valid?

 

Multi-purpose vouchers are valid for three years from 31.12. of the year in which they were purchased. They can be used to pay for all services at the Carolus Thermen.

 

Gradual redemption for multiple visits is possible, but refunds are excluded.

 

In case of loss or destruction, blocking and reissue is only possible upon presentation of a corresponding receipt with the barcode number and for a processing fee.

Can voucher orders be cancelled?

 

You have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of vouchers within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you or the person who received the gift has taken possession of the item.

What payment options are available online and on site?

 

We offer a variety of payment options. Just choose your favourite payment method.

 

Online shop: Giropay, PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, prepayment/bank transfer.
Spa booking: PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, instant bank transfer/Giropay.

 

At the cash desk on site: Cash, EC card (Girocard), credit card (Maestro, Mastercard, Visa, VisaPay, Amex, Diners), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Thermen Card, vouchers.

Is there a special offer on birthdays?

 

For all those whose birthday it is on the day of visit to the Carolus Thermen, admission is free upon presentation of a valid ID, i.e. the birthday celebrant can stay with us for a whole day including sauna use. Only additionally used services (e.g. spa treatments) will be charged at the check-out.

Is there a student discount?

 

On Tuesdays students, trainees, schoolchildren and volunteer service aged 16 and over pay only 13 Euros for admission to the thermal baths and only 26 Euros for the sauna world on presentation of the relevant ID. The duration of the stay is not limited in time.

Are there any discounts on certain days?

 

In the Carolus Thermen there are different action days (Traingsfrei, Lazy Tuesday)

Is there a group discount?

 

Upon previous appointment, groups of 15 or more receive a 15% discount on the entrance price. Groups of 30 people or more receive a 25% discount upon appointment.

Maximum group size during the week (Monday to Friday) approx. 50 people.

Maximum group size at weekends and on public holidays approx. 20 people.

What do I need to bring for a smooth stay?

 

If you would like to bathe in our thermal world, you will need suitable swimwear, shower gel, at least one towel and bathing slippers are also recommended.

 

Should you visit our sauna area, then we recommend two towels as large as possible – one to lay underneath during the sauna sessions, one to dry off after the shower. In addition, a cosy bathrobe, in which you can snuggle up while having a rest.

 

You are perfectly dressed for your spa visit with a large towel or bathrobe.

 

If you do not bring large towels or a bathrobe, you can borrow these items from our Carolus Shop daily between 9:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. for a fee.

Can I bring infants and toddlers?

 

As our pools are filled with very mineral-rich thermal water, the minerals would penetrate the body of small children through their thin skin much faster and more intensively than in the case of adults. Doctors therefore advise not to let small children bathe in such mineral-rich thermal water.

 

Therefore, for the protection of children, we only allow them to be guests of Carolus Thermen from the age of six.

Are there any other age restrictions?

 

Children/youngsters from the ages of 6 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Is the entrance also possible for a pregnant person?

 

Pregnant women are very welcome at the Carolus Thermen. However, please note that every pregnant woman can react differently to a visit of the thermal baths (thermal bath, sauna world & Carolus Spa). Therefore we recommend a short consultation with your doctor.

Is the access to the Carolus Thermen barrier-free?

 

Of course, almost all areas of the Carolus Thermen are also accessible to people with walking disabilities. Elevators guarantee accessibility to the various levels, two handicapped accessible dressing rooms allow safe and comfortable changing and a lift in the bathing hall allows easy access to the large thermal water pool.

Within the Carolus Thermen we offer a total of three varied culinary options.

What parking facilities are available?

 

You can park your car in the Carolus Thermen car park for a flat rate of € 6.00 during your entire stay and enter the Carolus Thermen dry feet. The entrance height is 1.95 m.

Do massages and other spa treatments need to be reserved?

 

We recommend booking massages and other spa treatments prior to your visit via our new Spa Booking: https://spa.carolus-thermen.de/

 

You can also ask at the spa reception, if there is an appointment available for the desired massage or treatment for the period of your planned stay.

 

At the reception desk in the entrance hall, the staff cannot see whether appointments are available in the spa.

What happens, if I am late for a booked appointment?

 

Should you not be able to keep the booked appointment, the following cancellation conditions apply:

• Cancellation up to 24 hours before the start of treatment -> free of charge
• Cancellation between 24 and 2 hours before the start of treatment -> cancellation fee of 50% of the treatment price.
• Cancellation 2 hours before the start of treatment -> cancellation fee of 100% of the treatment price.

Are there also treatments for 2 people?

Almost every spa treatment is also available as a partner treatment.

Check availability online or ask us directly.

Is there anything to note about massages for minors?

Adolescents and children under the age of 16 can take advantage of certain treatments by arrangement and as a partner treatment together with an adult accompanying person.

 

Such an arrangement must be made in advance at the spa reception or, for example, by e-mail or telephone.

Are there also massages for pregnant women?

We offer various spa treatments for expectant mothers from the 12th to the end of the 35th week of pregnancy.

 

As we have to schedule explicitly trained staff for you, you can only book your treatments during pregnancy directly through the spa team.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

 

The consumption of small food items (e.g. sandwiches) and non-alcoholic drinks in plastic bottles is also permitted in the bathing and sauna areas.

 

Bringing glass objects and porcelain (e.g. glass bottles, plates) is not permitted.

 

Food and drinks from the catering areas may not be consumed in the bathing and sauna areas. It is also prohibited to take glass bottles, glasses, cutlery and crockery from the catering areas.

Is smoking allowed on site?

 

Smoking is prohibited in the entire building of the Carolus Thermen. This also applies to the outdoor facilities with the exception of the separately designated smoking areas.

Which technical devices may I use?

 

The use of private musical instruments, sound reproduction devices, cameras and any media, in which a camera is installed, is not permitted in the Carolus Thermen.

Can I use my mobile phone in the Carolus Thermen?

 

The use of mobile phones is only permitted in the entrance area and in the KOCHKULTUR restaurant.

Can I take pictures on site?

 

Photography and filming on the premises of the Carolus Thermen is not permitted. For commercial purposes and for the press, photography and filming require the prior permission of the management.

Are there any overnight accommodations at the Carolus Thermen?

 

The Carolus Thermen themselves do not offer accommodation. But in the immediate vicinity of the Carolus Thermen are some hotels in different price categories.

Can I currently redeem my “Saunaführer” and  “Sauna-Guide” coupons?

 

 

We accept the coupons for one day admission incl. sauna at the conditions ‘2 for the price of 1’ of the digital app “Der Saunaführer” as usual.

 

Due to an uncertain legal basis between the companies Pragmastro Ltd., the operators of the app “Sauna-Guide”, and Druck- und Verlagshaus Wiege GmbH, the publishers of the book “Der Saunaführer”, we currently do not redeem the coupons via the app “Sauna-Guide”.
